Overall, i fell that my new website was a massive improvement of the old one, having much more information on every page whilst every page had the same layout that i followed all the way through. One of my main conventions developing into the use of the thumbnail links on every page.
For this i had improved on my developmental skills by doing a lot more planning research before designing my website so when i came to designing it, i could follow my guidelines and create a better website with a lot more ease.
For me to improve this page i had to do a lot of work and research, it as very plain before but edited it by adding such images like the wristband, showing the authenticity of my website that they have their own branded clothing. to create that image took a lot of photoshop work as i had to create the image from scratch.
Throughout every page on my website i had the same layout of the main picture with key information of that page next to it, to maintain a professional look of the page i made sure all the text was the same size, colour and font and the every image used were the same as well.
This page has been improved by adding much more information, instead of the page just containing one video, it has a video with plenty of other surrounding information such as other stories, plus the thumbnail links that have become a big part of my website layout. Throughout the website i used my own photography to give it a realistic effect, plus lots of other images that i photoshopped before placing them on my website.
This is our final front page for our website. compared to our original home page, this has been improved massively, filling more of the page and having much more information on it. plus fitting more conventions that a home page should such as having more links to other pages and other sub headings if information. having the smaller thumbnail pictures with the links ha a more realistic approach to the website, plus the newsletter, showing that we are a fully established website with much more information to share.

This is what my starting page looked like when i opened my blank document, from i started by adding a page down the side and creating the colours and other aspects using tools such as the "inspector" and brining in my own photos and edits from Photoshop and other areas.
when designing my website, i made sure that i didn't use a template and chose blank when the main menu tool bar came up, i chose blank as it allows me to be very creative with my work and this way, i have no boundaries to what i can do. With the creation of this website, i will link in other software's such as photoshop to make sure that my website will look as professional as possible.
After looking at the pages seen below, and with the grade i got, i decided to go back and re edit my website, using the same colour scheme and style, but aiming to change the layout to match more realistic websites such as "help for heroes". I will use such websites as a guideline for my own, looking at the conventions used so i can make sure that i use them and hit the target conventions for a website. For improvements to my current website, I a going to add more text to each page, as they look empty at the moment, as well as text, i will also add more photos and images to each page, giving the reader a full understanding of the website.

This site is a great example of a campaign website because it contains all the key signs and persuasive elements which a campaign site should have and which I need to build into my own site.
- Imagery of someone needing help - Silhouette of soldiers carrying someone on a stretcher
- Donation boxes with the charity branding
- A mission statement at the top of the home page
- Slogan -"Support for our wounded"
- Reference to "money in", "money out" and "wish list" in the banner area
- A famous quote justifying their cause
- Buttons for "How we can help", "Donate" and "Stories"
- Photographs of fundraising events and links
- Celebrity endorsement
- Key messages
- Sign up for newsletter
- Charity status and copyright
- Colour scheme has meaning and fits with the brand and the idea of England or Britishness with the Red and Blue colours.
- The use of the medal is also important in the logo because it connotes the type of hero the charity is referring to.
- The site uses the conventional layout with a three column structure, logo top left and the navigation bar at the top, in the banner area

Our final website, consists of mainly the colour blue, this shows a calming relaxing website that looks very inviting for the target audience that we are aiming at, being very clear and understanding for viewers. I feel that the blue and the layout makes the website very easy to navigate and all the pages follow the same layout pattern and are all related in the same way so that all viewers can easily go through all pages without getting confused. I think the home page is the best and although I like certain parts of the other pages I think they could have more structure to look more professional.
this is my final home page, showing that blue is the main colour on our website, showing a calming, relaxing page that is suitable for our target audience.

This is our final video for our campaign website, we didn't use our initial idea of watching the effects of the drugs, and just used a simple interview, we did this because we felt it was more formal and appealed to our audience more. we used cuts between shots to get close ups of our models reactions, showing nerves and anxiety that we originally wanted to show, but just did it in a different way.

this is our first draft with basic ideas of what we want our film to be like. having a young lad talking about his experiences with drugs, giving viewers an insight into the what life can be like. we had the idea that we would cut to scenes of him in action, stumbling over, once again, showing the effects of the drugs and why not to do them.

this is part of our working process section, showing some of the pictures that we used and some of our ideas of editing. when taking the pictures, we wanted to use a model that would reflect on our audience, helping them relate to the website and feel apart of it. some of our edit ides where making the black and white effect, showing how the drug makes you lose identity and health, signifying the danger of using them.

The page shows more of our work in progress, but having text and other ides compared to the last page, we wanted to create a text different to other websites so coloured the text ourselves using a wand to create a messy graffiti type writing. Again we used this technique to signify the ages that we were targeting, graffiti and messy writing being a common text used of those ages in modern day life.

These are the rough sketches I drew with Connor so we could agree on a basic layout for the site. All the pages follow the same conventional 3 column layout and this helps keep a consistency throughout the website. Having a consistent layout will make the website appealing for the visitors and makes it easy for them to navigate. We will be aiming to use will be blues and whites because they have connotations of calmness and relaxationand that fits with the message we want to send from our website and it would appeal to our younger target audience of 15-30. The only issue with these sketches is they can't really help us with what to put in the columns and how the text will look against the designs. They can only be used as a starting point for the design and I'm sure the site will keep developing as we go along. It's also good that Connor and I were able to agree on the design fairly quickly so we should be able to work well together on the assignment.

This is my results from my survey, showing certain results from our survey. This is very helpful as it showed us what kind of ages look at certain websites, so from this information, we could pick a website that targeted the audience of 15-30 that we wanted.

This is my survey used to get key information that would help me target my target audience, to do this I will use the information to collect an average for all ages and so that my website will match the information to target the audience.

This is a photo taken for my school site. I have used PhotoShop before at GCSE so I was able to use the magic wand to go round the outside of the image that I wanted and pressed delete to have have left the image that I wanted, after that I had the cropped image left, then I got an image of an american football and shrunk it to size so and placed it in position to look like we were playing American football. I think it looks good and I think my PhotoShop skills are going to help me build this site a bit more quickly.

This is our survey for school websites, getting resulted that would help us design a school website that fits the target audience of school kids, helping us chose specific layers and colours so we can make a website that fits all the conventions that our audience is looking for.
From this work, I learned that the layout, content and language used on a school website is very important, using colours that link to your uniform and also that you have to use language that sells the school to viewers, but most importantly I learnt that the layout has to be easy to follow and easy to understand when looking at it. this has helped me a lot because it as allowed me to have a basic idea of what my website should look like and the type of layout I should be using.

We'll use iCal to keep track of what we need to do throughout the project. This is an example here which shows how we can use it to keep track of pre-production, then production and post. We can complete a full version to cover the weeks we've been assigned then we can print it out and put it in our folders. Neither Connor or I are very organised so we will need to develop this skill throughout the project. I think I'm good at meeting deadlines but I sometimes find it hard to manage other people because they don't always want to work when I do. We both work too so we need to keep to our schedule to enable us to work together well and meet the set deadlines. We'll communicate with BBM and Facebook to talk about the details and re-arrange if we need to. So our schedule will very much be a working document.
